Best described here by our illustrations as to condition and eye appeal, this classic medical item of the earlier through mid-1800s turned mortar measures approximately 5 inches in diameter and stands about 5 ¾ inches high. All offering good evidence of period use and originality while remaining in untouched condition, this apothecary mortar retains its heavy porcelain headed pestle measuring about 8 inches in length. Once relatively commonly found reflecting wide period use, complete original examples are difficult to find today and make a nice addition to any mid-19th century display. Buy with confidence!
