This mid 1800s coconut shell dipper measures 13 ½ inches in length and is 3 3/8 inches across its pewter rimmed mouth. While this fine period example is unsigned the maker is unquestionably identifiable by style and construction as having been Cleveland & Bros. Providence, RI (see: the Rhode Island Register, for the Year 1853). All period original and in excellent shape with no condition issues this coconut drinking dipper retains its classic Cleveland & Brothers pewter lip around the mouth with their typically shaped turned handle and riveted on pewter connector. These coconut dippers saw considerable use though the Civil War era with few examples to survive in any condition. Exceptional original condition! Buy with confidence! We are pleased to offer a no questions asked three day inspection with return as purchased on direct sales! Just send us a courtesy e-mail to let us know your item will be returned per these provisions and your purchase price will be refunded accordingly. Thanks for visiting Gunsight Antiques!
