A bit late for our usual fare but a nice piece for the tobacciana collector, this as-new condition, period stock label will make a nice companion collectable in any number of categories without spending a bunch of money. Finally closed in the mid-1980s, the Byfield Snuff Co. was the oldest and perhaps the last water powered snuff mill in the country. The Pearson manufacturing legacy began in 1647 when John Pearson built the first fulling mill in the country. The founder was followed by ten generations of Pearson’s in operation of the Byfield Snuff Co. in Byfield, Massachusetts.
