Our photo illustrations will speak best for the quality, originality and condition of this especially scarce snare drum except to advise that it measures approximately 11 inches high by 14 3/4 inches in diameter and bears the label of Boston drum maker John C. Haynes & Co. at 33 Court Street where the company was established in 1861. (Note inclusion of rotary-valve> listing.) The scarce boys’ size, being not so small as to be a child’s toy but larger, measuring just a bit under standard and clearly intended for real use, retains its’ original, size matched and classically straight tapered sticks. All in nice original condition including the original heads, the only exception being period cord replacement of two tension tugs. This attractive laced through the rims Civil War pattern drum will fit nicely in any quality collection and will be of special interest to the Drummer Boy enthusiast. Buy with confidence! We are pleased to offer a no questions asked three day inspection with return as purchased on direct sales! Just send us a courtesy e-mail to let us know your item will be returned per these provisions and your purchase price will be refunded accordingly. Thanks for visiting Gunsight Antiques! |
