Referred to in the period as a fly bonnet or fly veil back in the day these netted ornamentations served far more as a practical utility than as a decoration. Our background illustration of such is from a crochet instruction sheet published in an 1863 Godey’s Ladies Book. Acquired years ago when such neat things sometimes surfaced, this antique hand crocheted bonnet remains in fine apparently unused condition after decades of attic storage and some years in our own accumulation. please note: ALL ITEMS ARE CURRENT & AVAILABLE UNLESS MARKED SOLD!!
