Bvt. Gen. H. Rogers’ Civil War date - PENINSULAR CAMPAIGN History

NOTICE

********NOW OPERATING FROM OUR NEW HEADQUARTERS ********

Now fully operational from the beautiful Pacific North West, we encourage all to keep a close eye as we unpack posted offerings and continue what will be an ongoing effort of unpacking the collection while taking stock with an eye toward thinning out our accumulation of treasures. After years of seeking out and acquiring all manner of quality antique Americana from simple but seldom surviving items of special interest to historically important treasures, Janet and I look forward to offering the fruits of our years of seeking out such to new and appreciative homes.

This 1864 publication of ’The Peninsular Campaign it’s Antecedents as developed by the REPORTS OF MAJ. GEN Geo. B. McCLELLAN’ bears the period ink inscription ’H. A. Rogers to Horatio Rogers’. Civil War historians and in particular Rhode Island enthusiasts, will recognize the recipient of the period soft bound publication Horatio Rogers Major 3rd Rhode Island Heavy Artillery, Colonel 11th R.I. Infantry, Colonel 2nd R. I. Infantry and Brig. General by Brevet on 3/13/1865. (see: Register of Rhode Island Volunteers 1861-1865 also Roger Hunt’s Bvt. Brig. Generals in Blue) A rare Civil War publication and interesting contemporary history in and of itself this example sports the additional desirability of being inscribed to Gen. Hoatio Rogers (Jr.) by his father. The book remains in pleasing condition with good evidence of period use and handling but remaining in solid, well preserved condition. Buy with confidence! We are pleased to offer a no questions asked three day inspection with return as purchased on direct sales! Just send us a courtesy e-mail to let us know your item will be returned per these provisions and your purchase price will be refunded accordingly. Thanks for visiting Gunsight Antiques!!
