1866 TREATISE on FRACTURES & DISLOCATIONS

NOTICE

********NOW OPERATING FROM OUR NEW HEADQUARTERS ********

Now fully operational from the beautiful Pacific North West, we encourage all to keep a close eye as we unpack posted offerings and continue what will be an ongoing effort of unpacking the collection while taking stock with an eye toward thinning out our accumulation of treasures. After years of seeking out and acquiring all manner of quality antique Americana from simple but seldom surviving items of special interest to historically important treasures, Janet and I look forward to offering the fruits of our years of seeking out such to new and appreciative homes.

Manufacturer: Dr. Henry C. Lea

This scarce 1866 medical study by Civil War surgeon and Professor of Military Surgery at Bellevue and Long Island Hospital & Medical Colleges, Henry C. Lea. This 777 page third revised and improved edition of the 1860 publication is titled PRACTICAL TREATISE on FRACTURES & DISLOCATIONS reflects the authors latest thinking as it was impacted upon by the experience of the long Civil War. The extensively indexed work with it’s 294 wood-cut illustrations would see extensive application as surgeons continued the work of caring for the thousands of war wounded and injured. This hard bound cloth example remains tight and in good condition with no tears or loose pages with only the usual corner bumps and some wear at the cover spine as evidence of it’s Civil War era age and period use.
