Manufacturer: H. M. Hall’s
This attractive 28.5 mm copper token was struck as an advertising copy of the American Institute medal of excellence received by Robinson’s Jones & Co in the fall of 1833 for their metallic buttons. Located in Attleboro, Mass., Robinson, Jones & Co. were button makers from early 1828 to November of 1834 when Jones sold out and the firm continued as R. & W. Robinson 1848 when the well known maker of Civil War uniform buttons Daniel Evans took over. The name of R. & W. Robinson saw continued use by the Evans firm well into the 1850s however. All original and as found with a bit of pocket wear and a rich age patina this token will be a neat memento for the military button collector as well as the advertising Americana enthusiast.
