We have acquired a small quantity of original Civil War vintage pottery inkwells and are offering them here individually for the collector who would like a nice original example at a reasonable price. (see: Howard Crouch’s (Excavated) Civil War Artifacts - A Guide for the Historian) These excavated examples of the classic early to mid 19th century form have been carefully washed and are suitable for any period writing display. They retain their period glaze and that attractive coloration that comes only from hardwood kilned natural clay. No cracks or glaze flakes and only the most minor period chip or two as evidence of age and originality. please note: ALL ITEMS ARE CURRENT & AVAILABLE UNLESS MARKED SOLD!!.
