Fashioned from recovered wood from the post Civil War restoration of George Washington’s Mount Vernon, this appealing turn of the century souvenir hatchet remains in excellent original condition offering good evidence age with hand sawed construction. Nice color with its original old natural bug shellac finish is set off by the retention of its original graphic entitled Mount Vernon / Home of Washington. The little hand constructed souvenir measures 8 5/8 inches in total length. Not a big deal but an attractive piece for the Americana enthusiast without spending a lot of money.
